Not all the stones and minerals listed here will be found as beads nor would they all be used in Jewelry or mantra beads. This just gives you an idea of the healing properties of stones and minerals. What is important is your personal connection to the stones and colors. Many people are drawn to on or more and may have “rocks or stones” around the house that feel good to them.

Abalone

Usually found off the coasts of South America, Japan, and China. Used by athletes to help build and protect muscle tissue. Also benefits the heart and helps in digestion. Nicknamed the sea ears, the Abalone’s flattened; oval shape with iridescent interior was used by the Native Northwest American Indians as a natural vessel for cleansing, offerings and prayers.

Agate

Agate is composed of microscopic crystals of Quartz which have laid down in colorful bands or ribbons. The appearance of the stone is waxy and soft. It is almost always translucent and occasionally transparent. Agates are grounding stones. They help obtain a better physical/emotional balance. They work to raise consciousness and builds self-confidence. This is Chalcedony Quartz. Red, orange, yellow, browns: Solid, Grounding. For stomach, colon, liver, spleen, kidneys. It is centering. Good for people taking heart medication or having problems with blood sugar, anorexia/food issues, and problems in the lymph nodes. Balances emotions, helps with insight; restores nerve feeling and healing after injury/burns. Gaze into for meditation. Also used for Left/Right brain balance, Pineal, pituitary; coordination, patience and peace.

Black/Banded: This is a stone for grounding and centering the energies of the Root or Base Chakra. Use for self control, grounding, resilience, quiet power, grounding, invisibility, peace and anxiety. Black agate is considered a receiving stones and is used for calming, soothing, inward meditation and reflection. When used for Chakra healing and balancing, Black Agate represents the element earth, and is therefore related to our survival instincts, and to our sense of grounding and connection to our bodies and the physical plane. Ideally, when using black stones at the Root Chakra, they bring us health, prosperity, security, and dynamic presence.

Blue Lace: Helps to focus on the inner source of love within you that transforms and heals all wounds. It contains the qualities of flight, air, movement, and grace; highly inspirational when working with the inner self. Works well with not only the Throat Chakra, but the Heart, Third Eye and Crown Chakra. Strengthens hereditary skeletal structure, outward manifested growths and Arthritis.

Botswana: Gray and waxy in appearance. It is strongly recommended for firefighters, people who smoke, and for anyone who comes in regular contact with excessive amounts of heat or smoke. Helpful for anyone who wants to quit smoking. This agate is beneficial to the circulatory system, the skin, and the brain. A pleasant side effect may be giddiness and it soothes depression.

Fire: Most often found in North America. Fire agate comes in shades of orange, brown, blue, and green. It has a strong connection to the energies of the earth and is an excellent stone to use before meditating; inducing a feeling of relaxation. Helps alleviate problems relating to the stomach and endocrine system and helps you examine and deal with problems in a calm and safe manner. It helps to take the edge off difficult experiences. It is also recommended for dentists, optometrists, and those in the healing profession.

Holly Blue: (Rare) Facilitates communication between the physical and the spiritual worlds. Helps improve communication skills, especially around verbalizing ones true feelings.

Moss: Connects one to Nature and are translucent, transparent agate containing inclusions of minerals that look like moss or foliage. Improves ego and self-esteem, emotional balance and strengthens positive personality traits. Allows one to see all the beauty one's eyes touch.

Plum (Purple) is the stone of meditation and spiritual transformation. This stone works on the upper Chakra. It assists in allowing trust with your own intuition and opens the spiritual flood gates to a realm of endless possibilities. It gives us the space to "be" our spiritual selves and clears the mind for extraordinary vision and insight. Red is a projecting stones which assists in destroy disease, strengthens conscious, courage, strength, physical energy, luck, and success. Red stones are used for protection, courage, energy. Help with blood, relieve anemia, stop bleeding, heals rashes and wounds.

Amber

Amber is a fossilized resin of pine trees. Absorbs negative energy and transmutes it into positive energy. Stimulates the intellect, encourages self-confidence, spontaneity and creativity; recognized as a tonic for disease and infection. It is recognized as a tonic for disease and infection

Amethyst

Amethyst is the stone of spirituality and self awareness. It helps us to connect to our "higher" self; encourages mental calmness and clarity; helps to eliminate addictive behaviors like excessive drinking or overeating; used to release tension, anxiety. Helps relieve headaches, colds and sinus problems. It can be programmed for protection or any other purpose. Doesn't absorb negative energy, doesn't need to be cleared.

Amazonite

Soothes emotions and nerves; dispels negative energy, soothes all chakras, especially heart and throat chakras. It is gentle stone that helps reduce stress and aids in communicating ones truths.

Ametrine

Aids with meditation, disperses negativity from the aura, and fills the voids with the energizing and stabilizing qualities of pure light energy. Helps release blockages in the physical, mental, emotional and auric bodies. It supports the 3rd and crown chakras.

Apache Tears

It is first chakra stone used for grounding and for protection. It is comforting in times of grief, promotes forgiveness and helps one channel ones spirit guides, dispels negative energies. It is good to place above your door or in the corners of your home or office.

Apatite, Blue

Can help to integrate and balance the emotional, intellectual, physical and etheric bodies, stimulates clairvoyance. Good for past life insights. Has a happy, light energy.

Aquamarine

A stone of courage, acts as a shield for the aura and subtle bodies, helps one attune to more spiritual levels of awareness, supports the throat chakra, and helps with communicating ones true feelings.

Azurite

Azurite is a six chakra stone that aids in the development of psychic abilities; also works with heart and base chakras to help see the good within ones self and others.

Aventurine

Enhances relaxation and promotes recovery of the physical body. Protects the wearer from others tapping into his/her psychic energy. It is well known for its healing properties and used generically to stimulate healing for virtually all ailments.

Blood Stone

Chalcedony, Blue

Carnelian

This stone protects against envy, fear and rage and increases physical energy and personal power. It promotes courage and creativity and helps with decision making. It is commonly used to help with female problems and to speed the healing of cuts and abrasions.

Calcite, Peach

Calcite is an energy amplifier and helps the body to remember the state of perfection while experiencing disease in order to return to the natural state of flawlessness. It treats disorders of the kidneys, pancreas and spleen and is a balancing agent for the assimilation of calcium in the body.

Celestine

The stone of balance and promotes a pleasant disposition. It provides access to, and transfer of, information from the pure angelic realms. Celestite contains an innate wisdom that is accessible to the user and helps one see the difference between want and need. Brings hope in times of despair, bringing calmness and harmony to ones life. It dismisses worry and is great for the quest of bliss. It is a great healing stone because it transmutes pain into light.

Chrysacolla

Revitalizes and calms first through third chakras. Opens the heart chakra and provides great inner strength. It promotes harmony and the release of negativity and aids with arthritic conditions.

Chrysoprase

Activates, opens, and energizes the heart chakra. It facilitates deep meditative states. Helps heal a broken heart and reduces superiority or inferiority complexes. It is a gentle stone.

Citrine

Dissipates and transmutes negativity. It does not “take on” negative energies. Helps increase income, aligns chakras with the ethereal plane. Opens and balances the third chakra and helps one to release fear. It brings happiness and brightens ones life. Citrine clears the aura, aids digestion and balances the thyroid.

Citrine, yellow to gold: Encourages individuality, self-confidence and self-expression. Helps in the realization of your untapped potential and is often associated with success and the accumulation of wealth. Said to stimulate digestion and promote overall digestive health

Coral

Coral is formed from Calcium and calcite. Coral brings diplomacy and concurrence, quiets emotions, and brings peace to inner self. Facilitates intuition, imagination, visualization, expedite, accelerate the transfer of knowledge. Strengthens both circulatory and bone structure in the body. Stimulates tissue regeneration and nourish blood cells. Coral helps with disorders of the spinal, alimentary canals, nervous system and thalamus. Different colors of Coral can be used alone, in combination, or all together. It is sympathetic to both the skeletal structure and the circulatory system. Red and orange: stimulates Root and Spleen Chakra for energy and warmth, fertility, energizes emotions, muscles, blood, heart, reproductive system; thyroid, metabolism; meridians; spine, bone and tissue regeneration. (Avoid if high blood pressure, fever, anxious.)

Pink: Heart Chakra, increases sensitivity, caring, compassion.

White: Soothes; heals meridians, stress, smell ability, nerves.

Black: Creativity repels lower energies.

Blue: activates and energizes the Throat Chakra. It is also used to illuminate the Third Eye Chakra thus enhancing psychic awareness and capabilities of the user. Facilitates the improvement/permanence in pursuit of commerce, improves communication abilities, treatment of throat ailments and cleansing of mucous system.

Dumortierite

Eliminates stubbornness, and helps one be patient. It stimulates verbalization of spiritual ideas and helps one identify the cause of disease or disorder. It aids in opening ones clairvoyant abilities, which we all have.

Emerald

Emerald is considered the love stone. It Opens the forth chakra, eliminates negativity and brings in harmony. Emerald enhances dreams and spiritual insight and helps one open to unconditional love of self and others.

Fluorite

Helps to balance the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of ones life and assists the person to move through challenging situations with ease. It is used in treatment of sinus problem, colds and flu.

Purple fluorite: Helps the intuition to connect to the rational mind.
Green fluorite: Harmonizes and recharges all chakras.

Fuchsite

Aids with meditation, helps you access information, enhances knowledge and right action in the field of holistic healing helps one to pick the correct herbal and holistic remedies. Used in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome and increases the flexibility of muscles.

Garnet

Eliminates blockages, energizes, motivates and helps provide a deep-rooted connection to your inner self. Provides the foundation for both spiritual and material prosperity and supports the bodies own healing systems by cleansing and removing blockages and impurities

Hanksite

Helps provide insight to help combat trickery and illusion, enhances solar plexus chakra and helps one to become totally open to another. It is a great stone to use during meditation and during advancement toward spirituality. It dispels introversion and enhances creativity. Helps increase flexibility in the mental, emotional and physical bodies.

Hematite

Dissolves negative energy. Promotes strength and vitality and brings ease to making confident decisions. Used in meditations as well as for the treatment of insomnia, cramps and nervous disorders.

Iolite

Iolite is one of the major stones for use in the third eye/crown area during healing, meditation and astral travel. Gently helps one with spiritual growth and strengthens the auric field. It has been used by shamans to insure accuracy of visions. Iolite helps one to stay in the present moment. Helps lessen fatty deposits and to rid the body of toxins.

Ivory

Because of the fact that Ivory is generally considered to be the bone of mammals, and most Ivory comes from elephants, walruses, and whales and poachers have killed so many that certain species are on the brink of extinction, use Ivory ONLY if you are very drawn to it. It can be found mostly in white or cream, although some shades of pink and yellow do exist. It is especially well suited for ailments of the bones, joints, and teeth. Also benefits the skin and the circulatory system. Helps you become more introspective and analytical. It may make you more in tune with animals and nature, but you have to have this desire in order to open a path for this expression.

Jade

Jade is solid to translucent. There are two varieties of Jade, Jadeite and Nephrite. Nephrite is quite similar to Jadeite in its healing abilities, but its colors are creamier and less translucent than Jadeite; Nephrite is the more commonly found variety. Jade may come in a variety of colors, green, blue, black, violet, white, yellow and a reddish and brownish variety. Each has its own slightly different use. Green: Health, wealth, longevity stone. Ancient Chinese used also for courage, wisdom, justice, mercy, emotional balance, stamina, love, fidelity, humility, generosity, peace, harmony. The Lungs, heart, thymus, immune, kidney and blood detoxification, and nervous system are enhanced with jade. It is androgynous and has a gentle, steady energy.

While all Jade has some healing influence, each color relates more specifically to certain ailments or organs. Properties common to all colors of Jade include its ability to mellow one's existence. Jade helps one rid them of negative thoughts and energy. Strengthens the body's filtration and cleansing systems and assists in the removal of toxins. It is very beneficial to the heart in both physical and spiritual senses. It is a very protective stone and will keep its wearer out of harm's way.

Black Jade: Enhances expressiveness, intelligence and perception. Jade has been thought to be a magic stone by the Mayan and Aztec cultures. Used in the treatment of disorders of the reproductive organs.

Blue Jade: A peaceful and passive energy source. Helps people who meditate to relax and gain an inner serenity. Jade is a quiet teacher of patience and slow, steady progress. It is a wonderful stone to give to people who feel restricted or overcome by situations beyond their control.

Brown Jade: A stone that connects us to the earth. It is a good stone to use to help settle matters of the home or to adjust to a new environment.

Green Jade: Most common and is very calming to the nervous system. The color green is representative of life or growth and helps one channel passions in a constructive way, making expressions of love easier.

Lavender Jade: Used to put one in touch with their emotions. It is beneficial to people who have been hurt by love or need to discover the gentleness within themselves and can help one learn restraint and subtlety in matters of emotional importance.

Red Jade: A passionate and active stone. Caution is advised here: it can have such a stimulating influence that the wearer becomes agitated and feels the need to express anger. It can help you extract those feelings and come to terms with them. Use Red Jade to blow off steam, to release tension.

White or Cream Jade: Helps one direct their energy to its most advantageous outlet. Helps filter out distraction and allows you to envision the best result of a given situation. It is also suggested for the eyes.

Yellow and Orange Jade: Both are similar enough to be considered together. Both impart the gift of joy and happiness. They teach the interconnectedness of all beings. Help organs that process food and waste in our bodies.

Jasper

Jasper is chalcedony quartz. It comes in a variety of colors from multicolored, solid. Yellow, orange, brown, green are the most popular colors. Jasper is a general tissue regeneration; mineral assimilation; and general healing. Darker colors are more grounding. Jasper is suggested to be used for elixirs because it will not over-stimulate any part of the body and is considered more effective if it is used for long periods of time because it works slowly. It is a methodical and meticulous worker. Each color of Jasper has additional specific qualities when used alone. Jasper works well in conjunction with Opals. It is recommended for executives as an assist in quick thinking. Also helps them endure stress.

Brown Jasper: Helps one find stability and balance. It benefits ailments that result from environmental pollution and boosts the immune system and assist in extracting pollutants and toxins from the body. Keep in mind that this process takes some time since Jaspers work slowly. It helps one become more ecologically aware. Well suited for use by people who wish to relive past events through regression or analysis.

Green Jasper: Is used for Respiratory/Heart Chakra work. It is especially suited to tempering aspects of your life that has taken on too great an importance. It works as a gentle daily reminder that the whole is only the result of all the parts. Works best on ailments of the upper torso, digestive tract, and the cleansing organs.

Mookaite Jasper: Great for decision making in times of dilemma; brings the best possible decision between opposing sides. Mookaite is a very protective stone, and is particularly good as an emotional protector. Helps to stabilize health and fortifies the immune system. Use for disorders of stomach

Ocean Jasper: Ocean Jasper® is produced from only one mine near Marovato, Madagascar. The deposit, being located at the edge of the ocean, can only be seen and collected at low tide. This remote area has no roads so the material must be transported to civilization by boat. Technically considered "Orbicular Jasper" in reference to its colorful orbs, some have adopted the name "Moon Jewel Jasper." But "Ocean Jasper" seems most fitting, as it was found right along the shore. Orbicular jasper's distinctive patterns are made up of round or spherical inclusions of contrasting colors floating in solid jasper. The orbs can range in diameter from a millimeter to a centimeter, and frequently show a particularly dramatic concentric banding. How orbicular jasper forms is still a scientific mystery. This stone helps one to accept responsibilities, develop patience and help with circular breathing during meditation. Orbicular Jasper allows for nutritional stabilization, to improve digestion and assist in detoxification and elimination.

Red Jasper: This stone works much like Bloodstone in its link to the circulatory system. It is beneficial in battling diseases of the blood and detoxifying blood-rich organs like the liver. It helps bring problems to light before they are a threat. Also used for protection, courage, energy. Help with blood, relieve anemia, stop bleeding, and heal rashes and wounds. Red Jasper can be used at the Root Chakra and represents Earth, Physical identity, oriented to self-preservation. Located at the base of the spine, this chakra forms our foundation. It represents the element earth, and is therefore related to our survival instincts, and to our sense of grounding and connection to our bodies and the physical plane. Ideally this chakra brings us health, prosperity, security, and dynamic presence. The color for the root chakra is red and it is grounded with your power. Red stones are considered projecting stones and are used to destroy disease, strengthen conscious, courage, strength, physical energy, luck, and success, it is dense, heavy, and/or opaque.

Yellow Jasper: Yellow jasper beneficial to the endocrine glands and the cleansing organs and makes one feel stronger and in better physical condition. Yellow is for stomach, intestines, liver, and spleen areas. It is earthy and grounding. It is also used for communication, inspiration, protection, visualization, travel, digestion, nervous system, skin problems, breathing disorders. Yellow Jasper can be used at the Solar Plexus Chakra and represents Fire, Ego identity, oriented to self-definition this chakra is known as the power chakra, located in the solar plexus. It rules our personal power, will, and autonomy, as well as our metabolism. When healthy, this chakra brings us energy, effectiveness, spontaneity, and non-dominating power. The color for this chakra is yellow. Yellow is very good for getting in touch with your power and to build confidence. It is your center of will. Yellow stones are considered projecting stones and are used to destroy disease, strengthen conscious, courage, strength, physical energy, luck, and success.

Jet

Jet aligns the first chakra and helps to raise the kundalini energy. It protects against illness and decreases depression. Jade helps one accept change.

Kyanite

One of the best stones for attuning and aligning all the chakras it stimulates communication and psychic awareness and dispels anger and frustration. Enhances mental clarity, eliminates confusion. It is an excellent meditation stone. It has been used in the treatment of many muscular and glandular disorders. Kyanite does not retain negative energy and never needs to be cleared.

Labradorite

Labradorite assists us with understanding our destiny and provides clarity to the inner sight. It helps to relive insecurity and apprehension. Balances and protects the aura.

Lapis Lazuli

Lapis lazuli is the stone of total awareness, it enhances intuition and wisdom and good judgment and stimulates mental and emotional clarity. It promotes serenity and self acceptance. Protects the wearer from others tapping into his/her psychic energy.

Lepidolite

Activates the forth through the seventh chakras. Helps decrease stress. Aids transition and encourages self love and openness. It is very calming. Aids sleep and are wonderful to add to a bath at the end of a stressful day.

Malachite

Malachite is an equalizing and balancing agent. Assists with change and penetrates the surface, getting to the root of physical and emotional problems. It allows suppressed feelings and old pain to be consciously healed and promotes powerful healing on all levels.

Magnesite

Aids with visualization and instills peace during meditation. Helps open crown chakra yet is grounding. Used to stimulate passion and heart felt love. It lessens PMS. Reduces fevers and enhances purification of the cells.

Magnetite (Lodestone)

Aligns chakras ad is used to dispel grief, fear, anger and attachment. It brings tenacity, durability and endurance to the user. Considered to be a stone of stability it can be used to attract love and to aid with activities of manifestation.

Moonstone

Feldspar (contains aluminum) and is translucent with white, pink, yellow, soft sheen. Moonstone honors the Goddess in all women, dieting, gardening, psychic awareness and meditation. It sooths stress, anxiety, women's hormones/menstrual imbalance and lymph. Enhances intuitive sensitivity via feelings and less overwhelmed by personal feelings. Greater flexibility and flow with life. It connects second and sixth chakra with the Pineal for emotional balance and gracefulness. Moonstone helps all be more comfortable with our gentler feminine/yin receiving side. It is especially for water signs. Used for protection against the perils of travel. Translucent, milky gemstones usually pale blue or green that is cut from Albite. Found in India and Australia. Moonstone is known to be of ancient spiritual significance in their connection to the moon and the intuitive aspect of one's nature. Help cool, soothe, and calm over-reactions to emotional and personal situations and makes one conscious of the fact that all things are part of a cycle of constant change. They open us up to the feminine and are associated with sensitivity, intuition, and clairvoyance. Beneficial for those involved in agriculture. Moonstone's effect upon the menstrual cycle is powerful. At the time of the full moon or menstruation, women should be aware of their sensitive emotional nature and remove these stones. Moonstone may help all parts of the lower torso, which include digestive, cleansing and reproductive organs. It is recommended for farmers, artists, dancers and young men.

Mother of Pearl (MOP):

Obsidian

Obsidian is an excellent grounding and protective stone. Absorbs negativity, dissolves anger and fear. It pulls out old energy patterns that are no longer useful. When used in healing it helps to provide insight into the nature of the problem

Mahogany: Provides strength in times of need and provides vitality to ones life work or fulfillment of ones aspirations. Eliminates energy blocks and relieves tension. It is grounding and balances the first chakra. It is often used as a Shamans tool.

Rainbow: Brings love and light to ones life, allowing for the recognition of the spiritual side of ones nature. It's also used for "gazing", especially in the area of love matters and relationships. It is grounding and protective.

Snowflake: Brings purity and balance to the body, mind, and soul and assists with meditation. It helps one identify unwanted behaviors and is grounding, protective and helps clear negativity.

Okenite

Okenite is a warm and fuzzy stone that purifies the chakras. It clears obstacles from ones path and helps one identify karmic debt. Decreases disabilities associated with aging. Helps alleviate a "nervous stomach".

Opalized Gem Silica

Good stone for communication and is considered a very gentle stone that gives universal love to the user. Also helps with intuition.

Opalized Wood

It eliminates worries of little importance. "Change what you can and don't worry about the rest". Helps provide access to past lives. Helps one see why a trauma or disease has occurred; helps one get the lesson and helps with atrophy. It is a stone of transformation.

Onyx, Black

This is an excellent stone for centering and grounding. It is used to enhance self-control and aid in wise decision-making. It balances yin and yang energies and helps to banish grief and to separate us from unhealthy relationships. It has been used in disorders of the skeletal system and of the feet.

Peacock Stone

Is a stone of happiness that protects against negativity. It is an excellent healing stone that brings harmony to the cellular structure of the body and helps rid the body of toxins.

Peridot

It emits a warm and friendly energy that is used to cleanse and stimulate the heart chakra and provide a shield of protection around the body. It is a regenerative stone for the body.

Picasso Stone

The master of the subconscious mind ad provides clarity to inner sight. It is good for artists and helps with creativity and also reduces anxiety and stress. It is used in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome and promotes weight loss.

Pietersite

It is said to contain the keys to the kingdom of heaven and helps one see the beauty of the soul.

Rhodonite

Rhyolite

Represents change, variety and progress and provides insight to the subtle energy channels within the body. It helps one strengthen the body and mind and enjoy the great vastness within the self. It is a stone of resolution.

Ruby

Ruby stimulates the heart chakra and brings spiritual wisdom, health, knowledge and wealth. It is an excellent protective stone and encourages one to follow bliss.

Quartz

Quartz encourages clarity and neutrality, thereby improving perception and understanding and supplies, stores, amplifies and transmits energy. Generally used with other stones to amplify their effect

Organic gems

Organic gems are formed by the biological processes of living organisms, and found on land and underwater. The main organic gems from animals are pearl, ivory, shell (mother-of-pearl) and coral. Those derived from plants are amber and jet. Other organic gems and collectibles include tagua nuts (vegetable ivory) and fossils like shark teeth and dinosaur eggs.

Organic materials

Particularly for komboloi, other organic materials used are wood, bone, horn, nuts, seeds and pits. There is a group of komboloi lovers who claim that komboloi should only be made with organic materials (materials that used to be alive), and not with gemstones or other minerals.

MATERIAL	HEALING POWERS
Tagua Nut	Tagua nut is a renewable rainforest crop used in place of ivory, thus called Vegetable Ivory. The Tagua Nut is the dried seed pod of the Tagua Palm tree. These seeds are harvested in the rainforests of Ecuador. While it may take many years for them to form, the harvesting does no harm to the trees allowing for many years of productive growth. Once the nuts are harvested and dried, they form a very hard material very similar to animal Ivory in appearance and workability. Covered in a tough outer skin which when peeled reveals an Ivory-White interior.
Kukui Nut	The Kukui is the state tree of Hawaii. The indigenous kukui, better known as the candlenut tree, and the symbol of the `Aha Kupuna, the Council of Elders because the Hawaiian word "Kukui" means enlightened. Hard-shelled kukui nuts take such a brilliant luster that they resemble polished gemstones. Kukui Tree seeds are very rich in oil. The valuable oil expressed from seeds is used as a light source and as a mild cathartic. Seeds were strung together and burned like a candle.  Hawaiians also extracted the oil for many other uses: to shine and waterproof wooden bowls, to mix with charcoal to make black canoe paint, to burn as torches, and to burn in stone lamps for light. Today the oil is used in many beauty products made in Hawaii including tropical Sun tanning Oils!
Rudraksha Seeds	Rudraksha trees grow throughout Java and the lower altitudes of Tibet. It is believed that after God Siva awoke from one thousand years of meditation and shed tears of worldly compassion, the tears were crystallized into the seeds which gave birth to the Rudraksha tree (Elaeocarpus Ganitrus). Their seeds are used widely in Hindu malas (prayer beads). The surface of the seed is rough, and it is segmented into five sections. Seeds with a differing number of segments are sought after. Rudraksha come in a variety of colors and sizes. The most common is a dark reddish brown.
Sandalwood, Ebony, Teak, Olive & other Wood	Wood is one of the traditional materials used in komboloi and early worry beads. Most wood transfers the properties and symbolism of the tree onto the bead. Sandalwood is known for its natural fragrance. The olive tree represents knowledge and wisdom.
